I come from a unique background, I have a bachelors of science in biology from UCSB and six years of molecular biology research work experience from UCLA. Two years ago I shifted gears significantly to graphic design when I started the MFA program in Graphic Design at Otis, in Los Angeles. The work shown on my website are from school projects completed while attending Otis and personal explorations. They illustrate my interests in speculative design, effects of technology on society, science fiction narratives and social issues surrounding Mexican Americans. As you can see my science side is still much alive as it is reflected in my willingness to experiment with many different mediums and programs to create my work. Visually I am inspired by science and science fiction iconography, punk rock, pop surrealism, and Mexican Art.
